“We’re taking care of patients in the hospital, and it can be frustrating.”
“You loved taking care of the patients in the Clinic this summer.”
“That was different. In the Clinic, we had a schedule. Sometimes it was busy, but it was always organized and we saw every patient in turn. In school I spend a lot of time preparing, but when I get to the hospital, nothing ever happens the way I planned. It’s frustrating and I can’t seem to get used to it.”
“You’ll figure it out. You’re excited about being a nurse and you knew college would be a different experience. You’ve told Naomi that often enough.”
“You’re right. I just wish clinicals were more organized. Being well-prepared isn’t working like it does in my classes.”
