Katie scooched across the seat toward John as he started the car. He put his arm around her and pulled her close. “I know just how I want to spend the rest of our evening.” He kissed the top of her head. “Alone… just us.”
“Sounds good,” Katie murmured, light-headed and mellow.
John drove down the lane and parked as soon as Katie’s house was out of sight. He slid out of the car and pulled Katie gently after him. Still holding her hand, he pulled a blanket and a paper bag from the back seat. “I can’t wait to kiss you,” he said. “I’ve been thinking about it all day long.”
“Mmmm,” Katie murmured and tipped her head back in anticipation. The kiss was long and sweet and Katie felt the warmth of John’s body as it molded to hers.
