The most beautiful and God-inspired moments exist in our everyday experiences, triumphs, and struggles. Sometimes we feel as though our stories lack value or seem trivial relative to the world around us. We feel inconsequential or under-equipped to influence others. But the moments of our lives beautifully interweave throughout God’s great tapestry, and He has a plan and purpose for every part of our story. Our stories become powerful tools when we embrace and share them for the purpose of mentoring others. God empowers mentors to profoundly impact others by sharing their stories, and encouraging and equipping them to flourish.
My name is Joan Gallagher and I am so thankful you've joined me. I am a Christ-Follower writer, speaker, blogger, wife, mom, storyteller, and both a mentee, (I have so much to learn) and mentor. Recently I became a contributing writer for Sweet Jesus Ministries. A ministry devoted to pointing women towards Jesus. My devotion for mentoring and story telling stems from the rich lives women's experience and how God uses those stories to pave the way for those who are either just beginning their journey or find themselves at a spiritual crossroad. It is my intent to empower women to know that their stories can be used to make them into God's kingdom changers for others.
This excerpt came out of time spent with a close friend. We recalled how the struggles from our past sometimes brought us to a place of clarity about how we would do things differently in our future. We also saw that those moments helped us to mentor others who were facing similar challenges.

Hope-Markers: How Hope marks your story and changes the world
Our stories matter because they are the markers in our lives that can empower our present and future. The most beautiful and God-inspired moment of our lives can be found in our heartaches, triumphs, struggles, and everyday experiences. These moments of our stories are important because they not only help guide our lives they also have the potential to bring encouragement, and hope to others. When we share similar moments of “Me too!” we tell a hurting someone who is walking on the same sharp-edged rocky path of struggle that we’ve been there too and we can come along side and walk the path with them. When we embark on this journey we commit to using our stories in ways to connect our past present and future with others’ stories. Our past heartaches and struggles are a part of our stories but they don’t have to define who we are today or what our future holds. Instead, these difficulties can be used to show us what we don’t want for our present or future and motivate us to bring about positive change in our lives. Our stories reach through time when we take a moment from our past, and use it in our present as an influential marker to make wise choices and point others to Jesus.
