This is an excerpt from the Forward:
This book is a mix of biblical examples and my examples. I’m hoping that these examples inspire everyone who reads them to believe God for an increase in their skills, abilities, and knowledge to do whatever it is they are called to do. The Bible says in Daniel 11:32 that “the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” The supernatural enhancement of your skills and abilities is part of the great endowment of the Father, the great inheritance He has left for us. What you will see in these examples is that God’s help was available to those with relatively small jobs and to those who had leadership jobs with a national scope.
Why is it important that you have greater skill and ability to do your job, business, or talent? First and foremost, it will bring glory to the God that gave you the skills and talents in the first place. The excellence you display in the area where you operate will serve as a light to all those around you and influence people positively for God. Second, as your skills and abilities increase, God can use that to help elevate you in whatever arena He has placed you. You will see examples of that in this book. Finally, if you are increasing in skill and ability, you will likely be happy, which is, as Solomon says, in Ecclesiastes 5:18-20, a blessing from God:
Ecclesiastes 5:18 (NIV ) “This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot.” Ecclesiastes 5:19 (NKJV) “As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.” Ecclesiastes 5:19 (NIV) “They seldom reflect on the days of their life, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart.”
