Meet Darby. Coffee addict. Homicide detective. Oh, and she can see ghosts, too...

There are only three rules in Darby Adler's life.

One: Don't talk to the dead in front of the living.

Two: Stay off the Arcane Bureau of Investigation's radar.

This was my first Annie Anderson's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the Gave Talker Series. The story is original, fast paced, and intriguing. Darby (D) is an amazing character, sassy, capable, sarcastic, and smart. The cast of supporting characters is impressive. I liked Jeremiah (J), her friend and partner. The storyline is fast paced, filled with witty humor, suspense, and action. The world building is complex, and intriguing. Cassandra Parker did a good job with the narration. The story ends with a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series.

I have the biggest book hangover. Dead to Me is a fantastic story. There’s so many twists and lots of suspense. Darby’s story kept me on the edge and kept me captivated through out her journey. I loved her character. Darby is full of fire and sass. Definitely a person I’d never want to cross but would totally be friends with. Her story ends in an absolute tease of an ending (haha) but I loved every bit of it. I can’t wait to continue Darby’s journey in Dead And Gone. The narrator do a wonderful job.

Talk about intense! At the beginning of the book I thought it may be a light mystery book with paranormal parts and boy was I wrong in the best possible way. All these characters are so deep and suck you in as if you were there with you. The descriptions were so graphic that i could picture everything perfectly. Definitely a fun listen!
