Publisher Description
A holiday escape, a comforting feline companion, a mischievous dog, and a second chance at love.
After a painful separation, 56-year-old Helen wants nothing more than a quiet Christmas far from the whispers and memories of her old life. When her friend Sylvia invites her to Sunshine Bay to cat-sit a clever feline named Angel, Helen sees the perfect opportunity to rest, regroup, and spend the holidays the way she wants to: Alone
But peace and quiet are hard to come by when your neighbor is a grumpy (but attractive) man named Joe—and his Westie, Neville, keeps escaping through the fence in pursuit of Angel.
Joe didn't plan on company for Christmas. He's just trying to dog-sit, keep up with work, and avoid festive cheer altogether. But Neville has other ideas—and they involve the intriguing woman next door.
As dog and cat cause chaos and bring the neighbors together, Helen and Joe must decide: is love worth the risk… even after heartbreak?

Cute Story
Helen’s husband left her for their next door neighbor who just happened to be Helen’s best friend. Helen’s friend Sylvia asks her to come to Sunshine Bay and her cat Angel while she and her husband Jack travel. Before they leave Helen goes for a weekend and meets Neville and his temporary guardian Joe. Neville is Joe’s son’s dog and he is dog sitting.
Good story as Helen figures out her new life. Well written with likable characters. Worth the time to read it, I really enjoyed it.
I was given this book as an arc for an honest review.
