“We have one more important thing to do tonight,” Captain Andrews informed PB, as he tipped the crystal decanter, emptying the final ounce of golden liquid into Reese’s glass.
“Come on guys,” PB resisted, “I was serious about no strippers tonight.”
“We’re going to take you to see a hot woman,” Bobby said. “But she’s no stripper.”
“The team talked it over,” Andrews told PB, “and we want to make Janet an official member of the Snow Devils.”
“Are you serious?” PB asked, sincerely touched by the offer. This was not something done lightly by the small close-knit squad. In fact, PB was certain, it hadn’t been done before.
“We’re deadly serious, Brother,” Johansen replied. “We’ve known her as long as you have and she’s already become a part of the team.”
“We all love Janet,” St. Jean explained, “She’s not just marrying you in a couple of days. The way we see it, she’s marrying all of us.”
“That’s the way you all see it?” PB looked at each man.
“That’s the way we see it,” they all answered at once, as the group often did.
“Well, then,” PB raised his glass, swallowed the last of the whiskey and then continued, “who am I to stand in the way of love?”
“It’s going to be a very interesting honeymoon,” St. Jean exclaimed, to a chorus of laughter.
“I’m going to have to draw the line on that part of the group marriage,” PB laughed along with the guys.
“I think we should let Janet make that decision,” Mankowski jumped in, bringing more laughter.
