“We had our best sighting from right here, back in 2011,” Bert told them.
“2010, dear,” Betty corrected him.
“Oh, that’s right,” Bert conceded, “It had rained cats and dogs that evening. This entire area was a mud bowl.”
“Everyone else here packed up and left.” Betty smiled at her husband. “But, not us -- our tent was in the middle of a huge puddle.”
“So we huddled together under a blanket in the car,” Bert continued.
“At around eleven, the clouds parted and there they were,” Betty said.
“A half a dozen of them,” Bert added, “right above us.”
“For half an hour they danced around, making impossible turns, occasionally they’d stop and just hang there,” Betty said, her head tilted up as if she were seeing them right now, though her eyes were closed.
“One time all six flew together until only one light remained.” Bert’s eyes got bright. “It hovered above us for almost a minute, then like a fireworks display it suddenly exploded appart, as all six shot off in different directions.”
“In seconds, every one of the lights had disappeared beyond the horizons,” Betty said, opening her eyes and looking from person to person. “Their speed was just incredible.”
“And our private light show ended,” Bert told them.
