The Rothston Institute has fallen to those who seek the key to controlling humanity – a secret held deep within Kinzie Nicolosi’s own body. Scared and on the run, Kinzie’s life becomes entangled with a collection of loners, adding the wrath of their own foes to the dangers she faces. Outmanned and outgunned on all sides, none of them can protect Kinzie or the world from the true evil behind the threats – something far more terrifying than anything they have encountered.
And it is waiting…
The saga of Kinzie Nicolosi continues in Choices, the second book in the Rothston series. Author Terri-Lynne Smiles once again convincingly explains world events through the interference of adepts who are able to control the decisions and actions of others.
Noted as having “a native talent for imaginative storytelling that her readers find unfailing enjoyable,” (Midwest Book Review), and “skilled at crafting a nuanced page turner,” (Kirkus Review), Terri-Lynne Smiles creates novels filled with realistic characters, a quick pace, and a bit of a puzzle for the reader and characters to chew on. The novels of her Rothston Series met with acclaim from professional reviews and readers alike, as entertaining reads that explore the lure and misuse of power in a contemporary world in which “adepts” can change the decisions of those around them.
Prior to becoming a full-time author, Terri-Lynne’s analytic skills were put to work as a health care attorney, where she was recognized as a Best Lawyer in America, an Ohio Super Lawyer, and one of the Top 25 Female Attorneys in Ohio. With the release her debut novel, Foreseen, to rave reviews in Summer 2012, Terri-Lynne left her law practice behind to devote more time to writing and meeting readers and has never looked back. When not writing or making appearances, she and her husband spend their time drinking wine and laughing at life’s twists and quirks. Find out more about Terri-Lynne at www.terrilynnesmiles.com
"A perfectly orchestrated jolt" raves The Kirkus R
The opening chapter of Choices picks up a few months after the close of its predecessor, Foreseen, with a heart pounding, air gasping near death experience for the two young protagonists who find themselves inexplicably back at the secretive Rothston Institute.
"Smiles interlaces the action and suspense with some interesting science tidbits and with a carefully considered version of human history in which adepts have always walked among us. And Kinzi and Greg remain extremely engaging main characters" concludes the Kirkus Review, calling Choices "A tense and well-plotted continuation of the Rothston Series."

Choices
The hairs rose on my arm, knowing what I was about to see. A man stepped aside to make room for Mel to see the new patient and I found myself staring at myself, as dead as Kinzie. My brain balked at the image. I was here, now, alive. But the body on the screen showed no signs of life. A woman held a mask over my nose and mouth, pumping a bag with her hand to force air down my throat. I wanted to gag like it was still happening, but all I could do was watch.
