Sakinah Thurmond is an African American author. She was raised by a single mom. Due to a learning disability, her mother decided to homeschool her, rather than leave her in the care of a struggling public school. The offspring of an Muslim father, of Anfrican American descent, and a Christian mother of Afro-Jamaican descent, Sakinah was exposed to a multitude of cultures and faiths, and though her father past away when she was a child, she credits both of her parents with her thirst for knowledge and understanding.
Jagmohan faces yet another restless night as he is tormented by memories of past tragedies.

Finding Serenity
Jagmohan, lied sleeping in nothing but pajama bottoms, as his "close friend", Kay's bare body clung to his firm chest. Lying ever so still in the dark, she took in his intoxicating sent while listening to each increasing beat of his heart, when he began experiencing night terrors.
Startled at the sight she vigorously shook him until he came to consciousness.
Hey, it's okay it was just a bad dream, you're alright.
Kay gently uttered while mollycoddling him.
Jagmohan cried out the name Tina in his disoriented state, as he crouched into a fetal position and began to hyperventilate.
Trying her best to defuse the bizarre situation, Kay, started chanting the words all of you in a soothing tone of voice.
As a special education teacher She had learned a few techniques for calming children with special needs, but jagmohan was not one of her children, this was her emotional support system, on the verge of a complete break down.
