The yellow figure turned to his companions. With a clear tone, he said, "You are to go to Sodom and seek out Abraham's nephew. As you walk the streets, cast your eyes for good men. If you find any more than Lot, you will come back and leave the city unharmed. Otherwise, you must warn Lot away before dawn. Through you, at the time of the rising sun, my wroth will smite all the evil of that city, and the others, with a heat greater than the sun."
He turned a sorrowful eye back through time. Four hundred of the years of men flew past his mind like the lazy arcs of a butterfly. There, in that older time, he'd faced a similar task. He thought he'd righted the wrong, corrected the creation. But, here in this fertile plan, much like before, the stench of the same weed burned his senses.
The two clad in white left wordlessly with their eyes set on an unpleasant task, and their teeth clamped.
