“You're not making sense!” Nimrod shouted angrily at the engineer.
“What did you say -”
Nimrod stopped in mid-sentence. Some of his audience had stopped listening to him,
while some of his carpenters were leaving. He turned to his priest, but apparently Jamin
had also noticed.
“It"s as if they don"t understand what you"re saying.”
“Yes,” responded Nimrod. Feeling a sense of rage building within, he fought to
maintain control. Only then did he turn back to his men and, forcing calmness, speak.
“Any that understand me raise your hands.”
Of the remaining ten men, only two raised their hands.
Before Nimrod could comment on this, the men suddenly started fighting amongst
themselves. At least one dagger suddenly appeared and moments later blood was spilled.
Observing this and hearing a large racket from the street below, Jamin stepped further out
on the balcony. Leaning over the rampart, he had a better view of the city. Leaning
further, he looked down.
To his startled eyes there appeared multiple scenes of rioting mobs. The people were
fighting, some already lying in the streets amidst pools of blood. And in some
neighborhoods, he could see smoke.
