Josiah was far more than a hansom boy-king. He was a revolutionary, a dynamic mover and shaker. His courage and decisive leadership left its mark on history, for which we can all be grateful. But, he was born into a mess of a family and granted all sorts of excuses for failure. Read how he overcame each deterrent, broke his personal chains and the chains of the nation. We can thank God for such a man!
King Josiah did not go "half-way" in his private life or his public life when it came to honoring his God.
He destroyed beautiful, expensive buildings because they were anti-God and the usage of them was destroying the people.

Josiah
My dear young people, as you look east from our noble city, you see heaps of giant stones just sitting there as discarded rubble. Massive buildings were broken down, never to be built again. The buildings were built by our king’s most famous ancestor, King Solomon, but they were entirely against the commandments of our God. Yes. The long, sad history of our nation can be attributed to the outright disobedience of the son of King David. On the other hand, these heaps of rubble stand as monuments to our most noble king, for whom we have gathered here today to lay to rest. He took a stand against idolatry and saw to it that all the idols and their temples were destroyed. You and I are beneficiaries of his decisiveness and courage.
