Mr. Park and Aaron started walking back to the car, but before they could reach it, they saw an old Asian guy getting roughed up by 3 guys.
“I know that man,” Mr. Park said. “His name is Charles Lee; he owns the cleaners down on 90th street.”
Mr. Park and Aaron got closer to hear the 3 men mentioning money.
“Is there a problem here?” Mr. Park asked the men.
“What’s it to you, old man?”
“This is my friend Charles; I just came to see if he needed help.”
The men looked over Mr. Park and Aaron skeptically.
Mr. Park and Charles began talking in Korean and Aaron just stood at attention with his arms folded, his eyes darting back on the three men; he knew these guys were there shaking down this guy. He had seen this in his neighborhood at times, all the signs were there.
“His payments are late.”
“I told you I cannot pay. You ask for too much.”
“I wouldn’t pay either,” Aaron said.
“What you say, black nigger?!” The leader spat at Aaron and with blinding speed, Mr. Park hit him in his mouth with the handle of his cane.
“Punks like you should learn some manners and respect.”
The leader held his jaw visibly getting angrier by the second.
“We got no problems kicking your ass, you and this Nigger friend of yours.”
Aaron rushed over and before the leader could get up, Aaron stomped on his face cracking it into the hard concrete. His two lackeys attacked but they were no match. Aaron kicked the first man in his chest; he was lifted off the floor and flew into a car door. The second guy pulled a knife from his waistband; Aaron just chuckled loudly.
“A knife, my dude?!? Go ahead, man.”
The guy slashed wildly as Aaron dodged the blows.
“Keep your left guard up, Aaron.”
“I got it.”
The man attacked from Aaron’s left side as Aaron guided him in and twisted his arm in a reverse lock.
Using the man’s momentum, he flipped him on his side and put him in an armbar. The guy started screaming as he dropped the knife.
Mr. Park walked over and put his cane on the lackey's throat and started questioning him.
"Who do you work for?!"
"Leo the fish…"
Mr. Park lifted the cane and started speaking slowly…
"You tell this Leo the fish, if I hear of any more problems of this nature, I will see to it personally no one extorts my friends, understood?"
The man got his three friends on their feet and they hurriedly hopped into a black BMW and drove off…
Mr. Park and Charles started speaking so fast in their native language; it was hard for Aaron to keep up and read between the lines, but it wasn't good news by the look on Charles's face as he walked off back to his shop.
"So what happens now?!" Aaron asked
"Don't you worry about things, Aaron. Go and get your brother. If any problem arises, I will let you know. And you need to keep your left guard up; don't be sloppy,"
Mr. Park said, smiling.
