Have a friend, be a friend...
As the author, I want to tell a story that is engaging, somewhat mysterious at times, yet is something that the readers can identify with and say "Oh, yes, I've been there, experienced that". This is one of those moments. One of those moments when we realize that in order to have a friend, we must be a friend, and sometimes that means accepting our friend as they are: faults and all. Jorja and Regina have tentatively moved forward in trying to reclaim their old friendship; but can personality and personal convictions be overcome, in the name of friendship?

Crossing Yesterday
Yes, I still smoke. It’s one of the few pleasures I’ve enjoyed for most of my life, and I have no intention of giving up something I enjoy. Yes, I know what it’s doing to my lungs, and yes, I know you’re like an outcast in society today, but I just really don’t care. I like it.”
“Well, by all means, light’er up!” and Regina began to laugh. “We all have things we enjoy that might or might not be so ‘socially’ acceptable. Far be it from me to judge!”
Jorja could tell her friend had no sarcastic intent, and was about to ask what it was that she enjoyed that might not be as she had said “socially acceptable”, when the road widened just a bit, and the trees gave way to a small clearing.
