What if everything you thought you knew about your family was false?
Claire didn’t understand why she had to go stay with her aunt Nadine in Boston. Her mother Laura and stepdad Brian had left on a trip to Europe, yes, but she was old enough to be by herself! But Brian had insisted, so here she was.
Claire’s doubts vanish quickly when she meets the hot boy next door, Jason. She falls hard for him, and he for her. But what promises to be an idyllic summer vacation soon turns dark and terrifying. Tragedy strikes, and shocking family secrets begin surfacing. Claire doesn’t know what to believe or who to trust. Will she be able to save herself from her family’s enemies?
Family Circle is a fun suspense story and a gripping journey into the dark underbelly of family relationships.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, and dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.
My therapist analysed "Your stories are autobiographical in disguise", camouflaged as female characters of sort.
I believe this excerpt shows a classic example of "striving to live." One could see that the fact of wanting to stay alive is vital, but there are surprizes and social struggles that kills a person daily.
The story before this scene is far more shocking and far more intense in terms of social tension.

Undefended Love
As the lights from the police cars started to dance across the walls, the four of them struggled. Suddenly, a shot echoed throughout the house, and Brian and Jason fell to the floor. Nadine cried out, clamping her hand to her mouth. Her sobs erupted as the blood started to seep across the floor, and she didn’t resist as Claire pulled the gun away.
