Personal power begins with language—the words we choose to speak and write. Like painters, our writing becomes the canvas upon which we sketch our personal beliefs, what it is we value. Writing says something about who we are, how we stand in the world, and gives us a voice so that we may be heard. In our own small ways, whenever we allow our voices expression, we gain a sense of control and discover the power within.
What is Power?
Power is self-respect, a feeling of being in charge of your head—what you think and what you commit to paper—no matter whether or not you can control what’s going on around you, no matter how anyone else feels. It is a feeling that you and what you think matter.
