Does prayer work?
We may wonder if prayer is really effective. Have you watched the news of Ukraine? Kyiv did not fall in 3-5 days as expected.The Ukrainian army has repulsed the Russian invasion to such a degree that Russia has changed its plans. Were these events just chance? I don't think so. People prayed, and we need to continue to pray. How should we pray? We can pray for the earth to be at rest and quiet once the tyrants have been removed. Yes, God hears and answers our prayers. Let's be faithful.

W e look forward to that wonderful day when you, LORD, give your people rest from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains. Overthrow the harsh dictators and authoritarian leaders. Destroy the tyrants. Yes, end their insolence. Crush their wicked power and break their evil rule. They have crushed many people with blows that wouldn’t stop and established a violent rule of anger with torture and persecution without restraint. Remove these tyrants and allow the earth to be at rest and quiet.
Then we can sing again!
LORD, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
