"There has been another theft from a museum," the news reporter announced on the TV. "The Louvre Museum has lost a little portrait of an Amarna princess, possibly Meritaten, the daughter of the famous king Akhenaten and his beautiful queen Nefertiti. The Amarna age was the time when the pharaoh Akhenaten announced there was but one god, the sun god Aten..."
Angel switched off the TV and looked at the small statue on her desk. The tiny bust of the princess was wearing a wig and the side lock of youth. That meant that, like most children in ancient Egypt, her head had been shaved, leaving only one lock on the side of the head. This lock was so thick, though, that it looked almost like a part of the wig. Perhaps it was, she speculated idly. A new hairstyle.
The little princess had a slightly arrogant expression which Angel liked. Assuming the statuette survived its journey back to the past, Angel would put it in her own private collection.
