The knowledge that she was so much better at dancing than Shuet went to her head like wine and for the first time Meryt-Neith felt she was touched by the goddess as she danced. The rhythm of the music and the sounds of dancing and clapping everywhere around her made her blood sing.
She let the music take her as she swirled and stamped, moving like a goddess in her seduction of a god. Her golden hair flowed freely around her, gleaming in the light of the fire. Many hands reached out to touch her suggestively, men's hands. She kept on dancing, enjoying the attention. But if they thought she would choose a lowly man, they were wrong.
