At night, we watched Christmas movies on the Hallmark and Lifetime channels (yes, my husband was a good enough sport to watch them with me even though they were always corny, and he didn’t like them). I listened only to Christmas music and couldn’t understand why people didn’t want to hear Christmas music. How could stores not have Christmas songs playing? Didn’t they know people want to hear the music, and it makes people happy? Those were the thoughts I used to have. I used to read only Christmas books during the holiday season rather than my normal murder mystery and crime books. Yes, I loved Christmas!
I also believed in the idea of Santa Claus, a loving, giving presence who brought joy to children and adults. I believed in the magic that Santa could bring and the sense of wonder and happiness.
