As the pinprick expanded, grey stalactites and stalagmites came into view. Through the thin haze that covered the cavernous landscape she saw a cloud of breath when she exhaled, and she shivered. Her arms were covered in goosebumps.
Just beyond the rocky formations were colorful glowing human shaped silhouettes that were probably souls marching in a cluster that made a line extending as far as Arsinoë could see in either direction.
They were beautiful and formed something almost like a rainbow. She assumed that each color represented a core attribute of the person. Those who glowed red, for example, were likely fiery and passionate. Those who glowed blue were probably calm and patient. They provided a sharp contrast to the dreary, lifeless grey stone that surrounded them.
She examined her own exposed flesh to see if she also projected a colored light, but she did not. Apparently, you wouldn’t glow if you were only skin without a soul.
