Henry effortlessly navigated his way through the crowd and quickly had us settled into a black cab that was soon dodging its way through the airport traffic. “It’s not that far to your hotel. Have you visited London before?”
“No, I always flew through Paris.” He nodded, although he had probably memorized at least the basics of my cover story: a twenty-four year old with dual Russian-American citizenship, having grown up and gone to school in America, now headed to set up a Bulgarian-based travel agency specifically aimed at younger travelers and ex-pats.
“A pity, London’s a very nice city to visit, especially if you love history. So much to see and appreciate.” We continued chatting lightly for the remainder of the ride, both of us careful not to mention my real travel plans.
