It’s Really Cool … To Be a Kangaroo!
It’s really cool … to be a Kangaroo.
I’m always jumping; I’m never, never through.
When it comes to my jumpity, jumpity jumping,
It’s what I prefer: to be always galumping.
My tummy pocket is oh, quite handy;
What I can carry in it is quite dandy.
Lunch and my baby, her name is Mandy;
She sticks her head out and displays quite grandly.
My tail guides me while I’m in the air;
It keeps me balanced, no matter the “where.”
And it makes a seat when I lean back,
And to any critter, I can give quite a whack.
I can really cover ground; I surprise myself.
In a race, my prize? One of great wealth!
It’s one that I almost always win,
A tummy treat which I’ll “pop on” in!
Whenever we see an Aborigine,
We run, run, run, as fast as can be.
There’s always danger when they appear.
Spear and boomerang are what we fear.
Life Outback can be very hard,
Always having to be on guard,
But Australia’s home, through and through,
It’s oh, so cool … to be a Kangaroo.
