WATSON’S WELCOME
AT LEAST ONE REASON dogs are so popular with humans is that dogs, when properly loved and cared for, will treat their persons with absolute acceptance. A dog just adores its persons. With few exceptions, dogs prove it every day. Just ask a dog person.
Without fail, whenever we’d return home, whether it was after being gone a few minutes or a few hours, Watson would be on the other side of the door.
His excitement level was always intense, as if to say, “Hi, my persons! I am so glad to see you! Why are you still outside? You can come inside now. What’s that you say? Oh, I’m in your way? Blocking your entrance just like last time? OK, great, that is so awesome! By the way, why are you still outside? Wouldn’t you like to come into our house now? What can I do to help you? By the way, I observe that you are not in the house yet. In fact, you are outside. Why are you still outside?”
Try finding a big welcome committee that is better than one dog.
