A New World
The next morning, I arose early and immediately froze when I peeked outside my door. Standing there in a thick fog was a vicious-looking raptor. It stood about six-feet tall, its glowing eyes locked onto me before it quickly turned and ran away. Petrified, I slowly closed my door and walked quietly back to my pod to lie down. I didn’t know what to do. Should I call for help or stay silent? Frozen, I lay still in my bed.
