When we arrived at the first tower we unloaded and walked through the entrance to the medical bay, then headed up to the bridge. As we passed through the med bay I noticed it was overflowing with patients; there had definitely been casualties.
It looked as though the medical team was huddling around the center nurses’ station; it was there that I saw Elle and Dr. Priganda, both looking exhausted. Dr. Priganda was examining an image of a kidney on a display screen, explaining the function of the chromaffin cells, a term I had only ever heard in anatomy lab.
