Dear Nancy Nolan,
I got sent home sick from school today, and I watched your show for the first time. My mom is worse than any of that bunch you had on your show. At one of the breaks, you said to write if your mom is doing the same stuff, dressing too sexy and embarrassing you, and that's just what's happening with me and my mom ever since my dad left in January. Oh, by the way, I'm Kathy Jones, and I'm fifteen. Anyway, you said, "If you're a young teen, write." I hope I'm young enough because this thing with my mom really sucks.
It all started last January when my dad left because mom found out he was cheating on her with some "girl" at the office. Anyway, that's what Mom calls her even though the "girl" is in her twenties. Mom is thirty-nine, and she looked like a normal mother until all this happened. But once Dad was gone with the "girl," Mom went on this crash diet, lost twenty pounds, and started dressing in tight V-neck sweaters and black jeans. Now that the weather is warming up, she's been shopping for shorts and tank tops. Yesterday got up to seventy degrees, and she went to the supermarket in her new summer outfit. The checker's eyes bugged out when she bent over to write a check.
