Man, Oh Man!
“The Defining Definition of Man”
Introduction:
There has been a concern of mine that men have lost their identity in our society. There is a growing misconception about the true definition of “man”. There are many different opinions that I have found on the internet and in the aisles of the library and even when I have asked friends, male and female, about what they think a man is. As I was reading one article I found that “man” as defined by women, should be strong both physically and mentally and I will add spiritually, he should be kind, a protector, loving, confident, he should understand his woman…I don’t get that one, but you get the picture. Now some of these definitions I have no idea where they got them from, maybe from the back of a bubble gum wrapper.
But have we ever examined t he scriptures to find out what a “man” is? You know that book that contains sixty-six books within one, that book that was divinely inspired and written by some old guys and a few women, mind you I did not call the ladies old, I know what NOT to say. That book that contains the Ten Commandments and the Good News of Christ Jesus, the Bible. Darwin’s Theory of Evolution leads us to believe that man’s beginning comes from that of an ape, I think not. Some would have us to believe that man’s beginning came from the Big Bang Theory thus defining man as an organism created from the particles of space and molding itself into what we call a man today.
