If you found a stone whose magic could change your life, how would you use its power?
Michelangelo did his best work in Rome. Some people believe in a magical stone he found on his journey from Florence to Rome, a stone that was said to have the power to release his inner imagination. He returned the stone to the same place he had discovered it, a place steeped in mystery and magic, before returning to Florence.
At the brink of despair, Tom Parker recalls Michelangelo's tale and stumbles upon a stone of similar legend. He yearns to harness its power to resurrect his failing business and win the love of his life. But just as he is about to deliver the speech that could turn his advertising company's fate, the stone is snatched away, and Tom's mind goes blank, forgetting the best presentation he had ever conceived. Will he recover the stone? Will he salvage his business and win the girl?

Drew Bankston lives in the Rocky Mountains with his wife, two amazingly perfect dogs, and a garden.
Before he started writing science fiction, Drew received his bachelor’s degree in Bio-Ag Sciences from Colorado State University. After that, just to shake things up, he never really used that degree but worked various jobs in retail and Asset Protection with some really important people who are way too dignified to be named here. He’s still working but would eventually like to write full-time and stop working for other people. He likes pie and chocolate, as everyone should.

There are various surprises in this world. Good surprises that fill us with joy and wonder. Bad surprises that can ruin our day and even our life. Then there are the unexpected surprises that leave our bodies and minds with mixed signals which we sort out one at a time to decide how we should react. This is the case with today's excerpt from my book, "The Imagination Stone." I hope you enjoy Tom's reaction to his new world and consider reading more!
Book Excerpt
The Imagination Stone
Tom had been surprised before and the customary involuntary sharp inhale had been a part of that surprise then, as it was now. Although he had felt the cool air penetrate his lungs, he had never felt it go into his lungs and down to his feet before. He threw his head back and he suddenly noticed the droplets of water that were suspended in the air above and around him. Each small droplet shone with color, each one a different color. He raised his arms a little above his shoulders and spun around. He watched as the droplets swirled and the colors mixed, wrapping around each arm, passing his eyes and tickling the skin on his face, the back of his hands and his neck.
