Everyone cheered. Julie hugged Doni. “Is this a good thing, Mom?”
“It’s a very good thing sweetie!” Julie said.
Brett held up his hands. “You should have seen it!” he said, “I wish that you all could have been there to see it. I thought for sure we had lost the account before we even had a chance to present it! But then Tom,” and at this point, Brett made a mock bow to his mentor, “Tom, advertiser extraordinaire, comes up with this, ‘I lost my contact’ kind of crazy action, and stopped Beringer in his tracks. He pulled off this amazing presentation that even I still don’t know how it all happened, and Beringer took us up to his office. Then, and get this, we find out that Richards was behind the whole thing sabotage thing. He called in to Beringer’s office and cancelled our appointment, pretending to be Tom and totally drunk off his butt! He insulted the answering service lady and made us look like unprofessional jerks.”
“What?” Joe said in shock, “Corbet tried to sabotage us again? What a slime ball! He won’t stop until he puts us out of business!”
Tom smiled and looked around the room, “But that’s not going to happen today!” he announced, “After what happened at Beringer Microchips, I’m feeling confident when I say that it will never, ever happen.” Tom laughed. “I say we celebrate our good luck! No, wait, not luck. I say that we go out and celebrate our great teamwork!”
