“Corbet, the campaign that we came up with would have blown yours out of the water if I hadn’t been sabotaged by you and your mother and if I had actually had the chance to present it. And as far as your resources, we both know that your money was given to you as an inheritance from your grandfather.”
“Jealous?” Corbet grinned.
“No,” Tom replied, “I just believe in working hard to get what I want.”
“I’ll work hard to get some things,” Corbet said glancing at Julie and winking, “but why work hard when it’s given to you? As far as your presentation blowing mine out of the water, well, I guess we’ll never know now, will we?”
Julie walked over to the two men, “What does he mean, Tom?”
Brett and Joe also walked over and stood side by side with Tom and Julie. Corbet looked around, and realized that he was slowly being boxed in. He looked at Tom. “Tell her, Tom.”
“I’ll tell you about it later, Julie,” Tom said.
“Yeah, tell her about how you missed the entire meeting. You might also tell her, and your loyal subjects here, about your financial problems. I assume that you’re having some since Gill was here.”
