Synopsis

Andrew Barton is an ordinary man with a deep-seated curiosity about science. Even though he has a college degree in Agricultural Sciences, he works in a warehouse driving a forklift. But he wants more from life—much more!

Andrew tinkers in his garage each weekend, buying strange-looking devices from a local college surplus store and working on things he only minimally understands. It’s this lack of understanding, however, that allows Andrew to discover things no one else could imagine.

Mistakes and accidents lead Andrew to places he never thought he could go, taking his friends on perilous journeys and finding world changes in other dimensions he could never imagine would be real!

Author Biography

Drew Bankston lives in the Rocky Mountains with his wife, two amazingly perfect dogs, and a garden.

Before he started writing science fiction, Drew received his bachelor’s degree in Bio-Ag Sciences from Colorado State University. After that, just to shake things up, he never really used that degree but worked various jobs in retail and Asset Protection with some really important people who are way too dignified to be named here. He’s still working but would eventually like to write full-time and stop working for other people. He likes pie and chocolate, as everyone should.

Check

I love playing chess. It's mentally challenging to see if you can outsmart your opponent, and looking ahead at various moves makes me giddy, especially when my challenger doesn't see them, walking into my trap! I jumped at it when I saw an opportunity to create a situation where one character could outwit the other with a simple action. “Then you believe me about the stakeout?” Matt asked.

“Not in the least.”

“Then humor me and open the door. If there’s no one there, no harm done. If someone is there, we may need to start planning what to do.” Matt loved chess and was pretty good at it. He knew that Andrew was smart but was a horrible chess player. It was one of the only things that Matt could beat his friend at. So when he saw the opportunity, he jumped at it. He sensed a checkmate coming on.

“Fine,” Andrew reluctantly agreed and opened the garage door.
