Andrew Barton is an ordinary man who, each weekend, stumbles into extraordinary circumstances. With a college degree in Agricultural Sciences but a job driving a forklift in a warehouse, Andrew, like many of us, finds that his release from the humdrum workweek comes through the tinkering in his garage on the weekends. Although his goals are directed toward other ends, he mistakenly travels through time, into other dimensions and even ends up taking his family and friends on a ride to a location that is the last place anyone ever wants to end up! Lines of Force will take you on adventures that you’ll never forget and want to enjoy time and time again. Let Andrew Barton take you along to unexplored territory in this book about mistakes becoming incredible exploits!
It's important to me to get my stories to the public in memory of my parents and now my mother-in-law. They loved my stories and I believe that you will too! Here's information about me: Drew has been writing all of his life, or at least from the time he knew what words and stories could do. In second grade he was writing audio plays and now, many...many years later, he's still writing. He's written the Tokorel sci-fi series, which has received numerous accolades, great reviews and awards, and numerous other books both fantastic and original. He loves sci-fi and fantasy but he also writes non-fiction as well. He lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wonderful family and runs a video production company to pay the bills, in addition to working for the city Parks Department. He loves people, so feel free to Email him anytime if you have questions about his books or want to chat. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
It's said that we can learn from our mistakes, but all too often we are more frustrated at the mistake than we are interested in learning. My characters are no different and when Andrew tries new things that don't quite work the way he wants them too, he becomes as frustrated as anyone would. You'll see when you read this excerpt. But life goes on and Andrew eventually discovers new things. Not always what he's looking for, but strange and amazing things none-the-less. Please enjoy this excerpt from one of the weekend adventures of Andrew Barton!
Lines of Force: The Weekend Adventures of Andrew Barton
He turned off the switch and tightened the wire. He thought that this would be it. Now something was going to happen. He closed his eyes again and flipped the switch. When he heard the popping and crackling sound his eyes flew open. There was a human delay from the time Andrew saw the sparks and smoke until he was actually able to turn off the switch. He grabbed one of his many fire extinguishers and put out the beginning of the small fire at the back of the bench, then put it down on the floor. He hit the workbench in frustration and, in the process, didn’t notice the magnetic ring slip, just slightly, down the plasma ball. He ran his fingers through his hair just as Julie and the girls opened the door from the kitchen to the garage and stepped out.
