Gary did as she suggested and when the phone stopped ringing, he was happy that he did, but it was only a few seconds before the phone started to ring again. Frustrated, Gary rolled over and grabbed the phone. “Hello!” he said rather annoyed.
The voice on the other end of the phone was much too cheerful for this time of the morning. “You ready to go?”
“What? Go where?” Gary wasn’t in the mood for games.
“C’mon Mark, are you ready to go fishing? I’m going to be there in about ten minutes.”
“My name isn’t Mark,” Gary said.
There was a distinct silence on the phone. “I am so sorry,” the voice said. “I must have misdialed. Have a great day.”
There was a click and the phone was silent. By now Gary realized that he couldn’t go back to sleep if he wanted to.
