Sanjar reached the jinn house in the nick of time; however, he was not alone. Coulda was standing in the garden. He approached Sanjar in a predatory way, and with his slithery voice, said, “Hello Sanjar! Have you had an unpleasant flight tonight? Aw, look…you have been crying. Did you learn about something tragic? If you tell me, the Blue Jinni will ensure high ranking office for you in the new world. No longer will you be under the command of the golden ones—perfection on wings. You, poor, pitied, little, Sanjar, will be a commander. In fact, I could make you their slave master. Imagine the possibilities of such power!”
Sanjar stood still for a few moments to imagine it. He had felt sorry for himself for so long. He quickly shook himself out of the self-induced trance he was in and realized that he could not let anything happen to the girl. With a pensive look on his face, Sanjar said, “Leave me! Take your forked-tongue and your black heart away from this place. Be gone before I call them!”
Coulda smiled and said, “Have it your way, Sanjar. You know how to get to our headquarters if you change your mind. Don’t worry; I will leave instructions for the guards to refrain from harming you when you approach. In fact, they will salute you with the honor that you deserve.”
