At home, the kids would be getting ready to go sledding and gathering up all of their warm weather clothes. The turkey would be thawing, and they would be hanging stockings and baking cookies, but… things were different this year, so they decided to wander about and check out the differences between a US Christmas and an Aussie Christmas.
The first thing, of course, was the weather. There were no ugly sweater contests or street vendors selling roasted chestnuts and there was definitely no ice skating like they would be doing at Rockefeller Center like back in New York!
Instead, they wore shorts and t-shirts and wandered around the city licking their melting ice cream cones!
Sammi Jo loved making snowmen back home and had never had a chance to make a snowman with Jase and Riley, so …
“Mom, Dad, can we make a snowman?”
“Well, exactly how would you propose we do that?” inquired her dad.
“Hmmmm, I know!” said Jase. “Let’s go buy some sunglasses and a Santa hat and make a sandman down at the beach!”
