Dancing through a Storm
White caps rise and form randomly across the surface of the ocean like musical notes bouncing up and down. The song she is singing is fast and furious, full of anger and power, tossing and turning everything it gets hold of onto the beach.
It suits me, as I feel as volatile as the ocean’s display. Unsettled….anxiety bubbling under the surface….I try hard to calm my body, my thoughts,…If you could see inside me you would see exactly what the ocean looks like today. She has me tossing and turning with her turbulence.
The ocean can be powerful. Storms can cause her to flood over everything outside her space. Her intensity can be life altering. Her strength forces me to take notice and be prepared to take cover and ride out the storm or even evacuate.
And yet I love storms. They give me energy. they excite me releasing enthusiasm I have kept inside. I feel alive. I am not afraid. I welcome the unpredictability of what may happen. There is nothing like watching a storm at sea. It is amazing, powerful, and life changing.
My life and the ocean are intertwined and intermingled. Our stories are the same. My life is her life and her life is my life…for the ocean is in me and I am in her.
This Dance is one of power, energy and intensity. It erupts from the soul. It is impulsive and strong. The body stays centered and strong while the arms and legs may move feverishly about, waving and kicking. It rushes with excitement, anticipation and energy. In the middle is the calm, the center, the stability. And when it is over we have mastered strength, courage and compassion.
