"And…I suppose you’ve shot someone?" he said incredulously, almost in smug amusement.
"More than that…I killed him," Lola said in a very chilling, matter-of-fact way. Her gazed remained concentrated on him. She never blinked.
Her riding companion no longer had a retort. He’d never known anyone who’d been shot. He’d certainly never known a shooter either. However, he was well acquainted with killers, for he was one himself.
