Mim has lived on Topsail Island her whole life until love takes her away to a life she never could have imagined. The words, there's no place like home, ring true as she finds out that love isn't everything she thought it would be.
CAROL ANN ROSS is the author of the Murder by the Sea series, The Topsail Island Trilogy, and The Blue House Series. Having spent her childhood climbing sand dunes, doing the beach thing, and deep-sea fishing, Carol incorporates those experiences in the works she pens. Her novels are full of intrigue, romance, and incidious intent, all set in picturesque south eastern North Carolina. She is a graduate of UNC-A and Spring Hill College in Alabama.
There was a house, a blue house, back in the 60s, that always seemed to be in a state of construction. I could see this house from my bedroom window, and I remember watching construction workers coming and going and then not coming at all. This went on for several years, however, no one ever moved into this house. As kids, we used to go there to play among the pilings that held the house. Later some of us had the nerve to climb the stairs and go inside. It's where kids went to hang out, to smoke, make out, and do things we normally wouldn't have done in public. This house is the inspiration for the books of the Blue House series.

Topsail Island Tango
Little feelings of growing up had come and gone, but this one was different. This time Mim felt an ending and a beginning all at the same time; now it was coupled with fear. She turned her head to the blue house as they passed by and within a few minutes they were at the pier.
