CAROL ANN ROSS is the author of the Murder by the Sea series, The Topsail Island Trilogy, and The Blue House Series. Having spent her childhood climbing sand dunes, doing the beach thing, and deep-sea fishing, Carol incorporates those experiences in the works she pens. Her novels are full of intrigue, romance, and incidious intent, all set in picturesque south eastern North Carolina. She is a graduate of UNC-A and Spring Hill College in Alabama.

The jukebox was always blaring, and often when Mim stopped by, she danced to a few tunes with Henry. He knew the latest steps, The Swim and The Boogaloo. His long, sun-streaked bangs hung almost in his eyes and his sideburns grew long along his jawline. Mim wondered just what his father John Francis, mister-tucked-away, high-and-tight, Marine lifer, thought of his son’s hippie look.
