CAROL ANN ROSS is the author of the Murder by the Sea series, The Topsail Island Trilogy, and The Blue House Series. Having spent her childhood climbing sand dunes, doing the beach thing, and deep-sea fishing, Carol incorporates those experiences in the works she pens. Her novels are full of intrigue, romance, and incidious intent, all set in picturesque south eastern North Carolina. She is a graduate of UNC-A and Spring Hill College in Alabama.

Blowfish
Looking out at the waves curling their way to the shore, Mim tilted her head back and swallowed the crisp soda pop to half full. "Ah," she grinned, focusing on the expanse before her. It had been three years since she’d come back from Detroit. "I took it all for granted,” she said aloud, “I truly live in paradise.” The feeling warmed in her belly and though she had tried, there were never words to explain that feeling. Love just wasn’t a good enough word for what she felt about the ocean or about Topsail Island. Maybe to some it was a playground, and yes, she could understand that. But to her, it was her church.
