“It’s been a long time, Sean. It is so good to see you.” Even though Sean was one of his agents in the field, Charlie had always thought of Sean as a son. He had been through so much with Sean that their relationship had grown beyond work. “Your father wants me to bring you by his office. He had a committee meeting that he chairs and it couldn’t be canceled. I’d like to meet with you as soon as you are up for it as well. Did you get any sleep on the plane?” Charlie asked as he began to walk toward the exit.
“Yes, a little, the fella next to me snored the whole way.” Sean knew Charlie’s question was more about nightmares than how much actual sleep he had gotten. “I’ve been sleeping much better lately.” He wasn’t lying. After seeing Nicole again, those nightmares had vanished. The circle had been completed and Nicole was safe with Jenkins. As much as Sean wanted to see Nicole again, he knew deep down that would not happen. “It’s time to get on with things,” he said as they exited the terminal.
