Hi, I'm a helper dog for visually impaired and blind people. Let me take you on a brief trip through my life so I can show you how I became a guide dog. I hope you enjoy my story and learn how important my job really is as a guide.
While I was a puppy I lived with a loving family that treated me as their own ___ for about a year. I wore a vest on my chest and around my back so I could get familiar with the feel of it on my fur. Later I would wear a harness. The harness helps me _____ a blind person. I went everywhere with the family, like the grocery store, parks and I even went to work with the parents so I could become accustomed to a variety of places I'd go as a guide dog.
The food they bought at this orchard sure smells good.
Going to School
I left the family and went to live at the guide dog ______ so I could learn how to become a guide to help a person with limited vision or who is blind get around on their own more independently. I lived at the school for about four months and made new friends with other dogs who were also going to learn how to be guide dogs.
I can't wait to start ________ so I can help someone get around town with their daily living
