“Milady!” Michael said bowing gentleman–style while handing me a white corsage.
I wanted to die right there. A corsage? This was not prom. Embarrassing! Tonight was just another white party – like many others (too many in fact) and not that special to my mind. To surpass the awkward moment, I just smiled and accepted it, as I let him put on the white, oddly feathered rose corsage on my wrist. My secret agenda was taking it off as soon as I could spot a chance.
“Aweee! It’s gorgeous!” Amanda batted her eyelashes and started to pet the oddly feathery corsage on my hand, as if it were a pet bird or something. I quickly pulled my hand to myself and held back a “rolling of my eyes”, as I courteously substituted it with a smile.
