Two
A pearl fell into my lap one night and I experienced joy T’was a girl that fell and I fell with her,
her heart I knew was no toy
We fell together,
Never reaching for safety or security
We personified honesty,
Eagerness and above all purity
Lust is an attraction that is never truly sated
Our lives from thereon were certainly fated
Grasping onto what we could find in our hearts
There was nothing else to find in the remainder of our parts The illusion of our lives gave birth to dreams
And at that point we realized,
That we were coming apart at the seams
Engulfed in each other’s arms ever falling to our doom We noticed that for any skepticism there was no room Wings burst through our hearts and we were flying
The inevitable fall became a journey,
neither of us were dying
New life emboldened us,
New possibilities came into view
And then I learned,
To really proceed, it takes two.
