This excerpt is about Adam's struggle with his demons, which is one of the things that makes my heart ache for him so much. Everyone has their demons to face, but Adam's demons are connected to Brynn and his love for her.
The fear in her eyes had been enough for him and he had tried to stop drinking intermittently throughout the years, but he always came back to it, needing it as much as the air that he breathed. Adam thought sadly that if it hadn’t been for the accident, he would’ve lost Brynn forever, and was struck once again by the irony of it all.
