Seven out of the nine students who responded they were in trouble more times than they would like to admit, stated boredom, sitting too long, and inability to focus as the reason for interrupting classroom instruction.
You may have wondered why I asked that particular question. I have a theory of time spent in "active play" versus passive play in front of a screen or doing things that do not require the use of the larger muscles, such as drawing or reading. If children have an opportunity to expend their energy, I believe they will have a calmer state of being.
