I sit on a deserted beach at sunrise, watching the dolphins play at mid horizon, in the brisk, Pacific coastal waters. I am calm, serene, with not one hint of agitation or crazy, stirring inside. The new dawn is the most beautiful moody purple color, hopeful violets and warm pinks hint at the peaceful, new day rising. I feel weightless. I am off to the side, watching. I am outside my body, watching the waves move to and fro in perfect, blissful harmony.
A little white pill replenishes the brain oxygen, pointing the way back towards happy. The chemicals in my head shift ever so slightly rocking left and right, then back to the left balancing out. I dare say, I am quiet, serene and the mind is peaceful. The beautiful, happy, uncomplicated me is back. The soft edged, sweet girl I have not seen in decades. She sits calmly, Indian style, smiling and silent.
There is hope and light bottled up in the right cocktail combination. I float through the day, giving thanks to the pain I have been in, the unbearable pain I am no longer bound to. A grin washes over me, oozing from the inside out. I fantasize over a renewed faith and limitless future. I thought the world was lost to me, the frayed impossibility. I’m sure this little round, white piece of magic is hope in a bottle. A modern, guru medicine man does his chant and dances all around me. Through the mist, we watch the sunrise come up together, changing the course of everything.
I do not worry, I am stoned, delighted by the golden vision, imagining a world filled with endless possibility.
