Before you officially start this business with your child, jot down some basics:
•What are you going to do with this business?
•How are you going to make money? (Monetize videos, sell a product, put ads on website…)
•What do you want to call this business?
•Are you saving money for anything special?
•What is it going to cost to start this business?
•How can you advertise this business? (Social media, local stores, family/friends email list…)
You will need to have an email address for just about anything you do business wise, so either help them set up their own email address (with your supervision) or allow them to use yours. Use Google’s Gmail, if possible, because you will need that if you decide to set up a YouTube channel or use Google Analytics in the future.
(As you go along, you may want to see if you need to register with your city or county for a business permit. These usually aren’t very expensive, and most kids’ businesses don’t generate enough to worry about it, but…just in case!)
Okay, now that you have the basics down, let’s get started with the fun stuff.
